Young People

St Thomas Youth and Students Ministry

The student (oriented and led!) service will take place in the church every Sunday. We invite YOU to help us achieve this as soon as possible.

Come and develop your leadership skills, your music talent and have fun with like-minded folk. Contact Father Dane for more information.

Our Youth and Student Ministry endeavours to reach young people in and around Berea. Studying and young professionals have found home in this ministry. St. Thomas Anglican Church is strategically placed within the vicinity of number institutions of learning from local high schools to tertiary institutions. The most notable being Durban University of Technology.

We are conscious of the huge challenges that young people have to grapple with as they pursue their studies and careers. Growing up and studying can be fun but it can also be a lonely and perilous journey. Lately places of learning have become breeding ground for drugs, promiscuity, unhealthy relationships, HIV/AIDS, spiritualism to name but a few. Many promising young people continue to succumb to these and many other perils.

It is our conviction that the only way around modern day perils that threaten to wipe out an entire generation is connecting with God our maker. When this connection is made young people discover the purpose of their existence.

Discovering their purpose of existence is not enough, they still have to grow into that God given destiny, which is growing in every way to be like Christ (Ephesians 4:15, cf. Romans 8:29). It is only a life modelled after Christ that can honour God. Our programmes are tailor-made to create an environment where that dynamic process is conceivable.

Come and join this fun-loving and spiritual group.

St. Thomas Anglican Church is an Inclusive Church and welcomes all who would like to attend. Our table is open to all who have been baptised into Christ and who love Him as their Lord and Saviour. We do like to keep in touch with our members, and as such we ask for this form to be completed and returned to the office.
